Eva is the daughter of Mardoqueo and Das Evalina and is the fraternal twin sister of Chantelle. Eva is switched at birth and then sentenced to the Cave of the Ice Cats which normally leads to death. Instead she is rescued by Baran. Eventually she becomes the Priestess of Scarlet because she "survives the cave of the Ice Cats which is an omen of her sacredness. Mardoqueo does not know that she has a fraternal sister (Chantelle) either even though he is sent in a dream to adopt his own daughter from where Baran has left her in the woods in the Ice Forest. Eva and her relationship to Mardoqueo is not discovered until much later either when her daughter Shumee (Mardoqueo's granddaughter) is brought to him.
