Personal history
Born the 7th of Ea's 12 children, he was an unassuming child compared to his siblings. Where most of his siblings traveled about with their father, learning the ways of war, he spent most of his time sick in Raypath with his mother. While it left him weaker physically, he did not let himself sit idle. His mother, knowing her own weaknesses as an Empress sought to ensure her children were better educated than she was, and so he studied voraciously.
He studied non-stop until his twentieth birthday, and afterward, he traveled. He sought more knowledge and scoured the land for all he could learn. When he ran out of land in the kingdom he left to the south and journeyed amongst the Ganeshan and studied under their elders and great teachers. He traveled to the far east, to the Islands of Beastmen and in the lands of the Tengu studying even more. Tutored by the Dragons near his home, traveled the wastes of the west.
On this journey, he often had an entourage of allies and companions, among them he found the woman who would be his wife, Yuna. While Odin could often be somber and terse, she was his opposite, being cheerful and talkative. What they shared was a deep interest in knowledge and learning. Originally their relationship was purely intellectual, preferring to discuss and argue anything and everything that they learned, but as they traveled together they grew to love each other and eventually she married him.
Eventually, Odin returned for his mother's failing health. When he returned he immediately put himself to work on the administration of the Empire, quickly picking things up and using his knowledge and experience to redirect and lead. His mother retired, leaving the work of running the empire to her children and eventually, at the age of 40, his mother died. Shortly thereafter, Yuudai, abandoned the empire, leaving the throne empty and retreating into mourning.
It took only a short while for this to explode into outright civil war. Originally, Odin refused to fight, promising his siblings that he would maintain his seat in the administration, but not seek the throne. He was happy, his family was healthy, and whatever squabble his siblings could have with each other couldn't kill each other. He would keep the citizens out of the fighting and by the time it was over the empire would be ready to receive their new Emperor. This plan failed quickly.
The first crack showed when his Eldest Sibling, Fryga, was killed by her erstwhile ally and brother Thor. Shortly thereafter two more of his siblings were killed. Those who were loyal to these now dead siblings did not go quietly, but rather than fighting against overwhelming forces and dying ingloriously, they ran to the one who proved to be most reasonable, Odin.
Odin rejected the first groups that came to him, but as the war turned more brutal and bloody, and the more men who came to ask for his help, the harder it was for him to stay idle. Four months after the start, he accepted, taking up the saddle of a war horse for the first time in his life.
This war would leave deep scars on all involved, shatter the empire into many small kingdoms, and scatter much of mankind to the wind. The only thing that kept Odin from taking his own life after this was the love of his wife and his responsibility to his people.
With the war over and the Empire in ruins, Odin and Yuna set to work rebuilding all they could and preparing for the future. They formalized the rules of the royal family, reforming it into the Teikoku. The military was given its due place within the Gunji Ryoku. Separated the Royal Family from the Law in the Kyuutei. Reorganized the Shrines and priesthoods of the Empire into the Shinken. He reconquered a number of nearby lands that had fallen away in the civil war, but never lead the armies himself.
With the foundation of the empire reset, the horrors of the civil war behind him, and his heir prepared to rule, he stepped down. His last action was to create the Koutoubenmukan. He and Yuna stepped into the background and allowed their Daughter Morrigan Ambrose to ascend to the throne.
While he kept acting in government at the behest of the new Empress, he did his best to slide out of the limelight.
He died on the 2nd of Oda-tsuki 91 AC. His wife Yuna, followed him on the 26th of Are-tsuki 92 AC.
