Ambrose Royal Family
Structure
They organize themselves around the current Autocrat in the family and only rarely allow someone who was not born into the family to join this system.
The center should be the most promising member between the ages of 20 and 45. They are the Autocrat and from there the structure is organized further.
Their elders are part of an elder council, they advise and assist the current autocrat, allowing them to borrow their experience and expertise. They also help assure that power transitions smoothly. When they aren't assisting the Autocrat, they do as they wish, effectively being retired as they are.
Beneath the autocrat is their children. The Autocrat's children are born and raised in the Ambrose family and prepared for seats of power. While they are not required to take any seat of power, they must make their intentions clear. Should they seek the throne to become the next Autocrat they must prove themselves worthy compared to their siblings and meet the requirements for the crown to pass to them. The requirements are that they are married with at least one child, and preferably over the age of 25.
The Ambrose family attempts to transition power from one generation to the next as smoothly as possible. It has never failed to produce a valid heir but can make the choice of heir difficult.
Public Agenda
Publicly they are quite direct in their desire. They seek to conquer and rule all they can to the best of their abilities. While they try to be nice about this and are unbelievably patient on their expansion if pushed they will throw the freedom they love out the window in favor of cold necessity.
History
Born of the Ea, first wife of Yuudai, they have been blessed with his resolve, competitive spirit, and love of freedom. In the first generation after him, they destroyed most of what Yuudai had built and shattered the first empire of humanity into many smaller kingdoms. Of Ea's twelve children, only one, Odin, was victorious, all others were defeated and removed as a threat. Odin, recognizing the harm his family had caused, he created the structure of the family as was then. He hoped that it would ensure such a horrific event would never happen again.
