Dwarf
Dwarves were created from a magical "bacteria" that arrived on Shinxia via an asteroid.
This "bacteria" infects rocks and changes them into a form that mimics its surroundings.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Short, stocky, industrious, and bearded humanoids.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Dwarven life-cycle begins much as it tends to end- with a pool of hydroxilic liquid.
Dwarves do not mine simply to fuel their industries, it is a necessary part of their reproductive cycle. The rock that is extracted from the mines is passed through a series of examiners and after being deemed of the appropriate quality, is placed into a pool of specially prepared liquid. After soaking for a few weeks, the rock is fertilized and placed into an incubation chamber where the growth of the bacterial culture is encouraged and cared for.
After several months of cultivation, a new Dwarf emerges and is sent to the scholars to be educated.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Their biology is relatively similar to most other organisms on Shinxia. Alcohol is a staple amongst dwarven societies, due to the medicinal effects it has on their physiology. Though it is not a strictly necessary part of their diet, an unhealthy Dwarf might find themselves turning to stone and be prescribed an increase in alcoholic beverages similar to an increase in vitamin intake in humans.
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves who rejected their new, fleshy form became the Dvergr.
Dwarves are directly responsible for the creation of, and closely allied with Orcs.
