Zuriel Schertz (Zer - E - L / Sssh - err - zzz)

Grayish marbled skin and silver eyes with starry pupils. Bob styled hair with long side bangs. Stands nearly 7 feet tall and carries a muscular build.

Her hair. Golden at the roots and the tips. Silver throughout the rest.   Her ethereal beauty that screams divinity. She loathes it.

Zuriel grew up in Ansa Thalas. She was birthed by a Priestess Midwife, who saw the blessing of Pelor within. The Church of Healing's head priest, Ramah Zook, had Zuriel raised on the teachings of Pelor. When Zuriel was ten, she received her first vision and was called the "Chosen Herald", a prophet of Pelor.   Her parents pushed her toward the life of an acolyte, but Zuriel wanted to study alchemy. She secretly would read alchemy books and scrolls from the local apothecary. However, her parents would often catch her and take away her books, and pressure her into following Pelor's teachings.     Tired of her family, Zuriel left. For over two decades she has wandered the world in search of bettering her alchemy skills. She eventually found herself in Olferius, a city where she retrieved a strange letter with the back sealed in violet wax and the family crest of the Nirinath Family stamped into it. She thought it curious that someone would be interested in her talents. As a result, she went to the meeting listed in the letter, only to find out that Lady Shyntlara Nirinath is tasking those with connections to the divine to deliver a package to Rajah Haryk Ralorona.   A challenge was put in place, but before Lady Shyntlara could tell people to sign up, they were attacked by assailants in black armor with a red eye on the chest. Zuriel noticed another clad in black making the first move against the assailants, protecting Lady Shyntlara and the package. A battle ensued with Zuriel leaping in to help the strange figure. Two other figures joined in, Tigerian Solroar and Ptolma.   Lady Shyntlara had them flee with the package, knowing that the assailants will be distracted during the commotion. They fled for the docks, hoping to steal a ship and make a get away. Yet, some assailants were waiting outside and started a chase scene across Olferius with chaos in their wake. Eventually, they made it the docks, tired and exhausted. They took the first ship they saw and boarded it, unknowing that it was Captain Keen's vessel.   At first, Captain Keen didn't want to let them join, but he relented when he saw the assailants. The letters each of the stowaways had helped to prove their innocence and Captain Keen let them stay as they set off for the beginning of the Shattered Remains Campaign!

Tried to heal her town from a flu with a stronger medicine than just prayers and "divine intervention". The potion failed and caused two people to die, leaving Zuriel feeling that her potions must be perfect -- to her, they'll never be perfect. She'll always be a failure.

Personality

Her work is all that she's known. Trust in friends is pointless if they always leave or betray her. Making allies is something she needs, devoting her time to making sure that she can advance further in her career as an apothecary.

The pressure of the Church of Healing. She began to hate herself and not trust those around her. Friendships and family relationships deteriorated worse than they were in the beginning. This has caused Zuriel to see friendship as a problem and remains closed off.

Family

Nahaliel Schertz: Father. Zuriel always saw him as someone who enjoyed tinkering with objects. Even so, his belief in the gods outweighed his job. Zuriel's birth changed him, leading him toward making trinkets toward helping the Church of Healing.   Sarai Schertz: Mother. They were somewhat close growing up, but the older Zuriel got and started to find herself, their connection began to wane. They have not spoken in 2 decades.

Friends

Sontar Genrora. They used to be best friends.

Allies

Ptolma. There isn't much to say yet. Zuriel watches Ptolma closely, unsure is she is an ally or a threat.   Shadow. They briefly met at the gathering, joining sides when the challenge became dangerous as strange assailants attacked. She views his battling skills as dependable and not one to be trifled with.   Tigerian Solroar. They have yet to speak to each other. However, Zuriel watches her with the intent of discovering her noble connections. It would be a great way to gain recognition for being an apothecary.

Neutral

Cletus Brimwalker. He hated Zuriel with a passion. Yet, she showed him a kindness he could never repay. She doesn't know why he hates her and she won't cause him problems unless provoked.   Jim the Hog. Would often help him pray when he was younger. While he was treated unfairly for being a bit slower than the average elf, Zuriel treated him with kindness.

Rivals

Bryl. Known for her short temper, Bryl often wanted to challenge Zuriel's status. They spared occasionally, especially when it came to the Church of Healing.

Enemies

Ramah Zook. After pressuring her with constant teachings in the name of Pelor, Zuriel sees him as a cult leader, drawing upon the people's desperation. She will voice this straight to his face.

Zuriel shows her faith in Pelor, even after everything that has been done to her. She believes Pelor's attitude toward her is a sign that her faith needs to be honed while still finding ways to take care of weak.
