Church of Healing

The Church of Healing is associated with Pelor, god of Life and Healing, and is located in the town of Ansa Thalas. For the first thousand years of its standing, the church focused solely on taking care of the wounded and sick
Then, in 49 WoS, Zuriel Schertz was born at high noon and contained a golden glow to her form. She was dubbed the an aasimar born to elven parents. Head Priest Ramah Zook had her tested until she turned ten and revealed her magickal prowess in the name of Pelor. From then, she was called the Prophet of Pelor.

There are many rankings within the Church of Healing.

Priest: Priests train under a Deacon or Bishop, assigned monastic orders, and can be a wandering shepherd to spread the word of Pelor.
Deacon: Granted their own church or grove to tend and maintain, reports to the Bishop. They help heal the sick and wounded, but can only be made a Deacon at the age of 26 years.
Vicar: A Priest or Deacon as an aid to a Bishop, Archbishop, or Cardinal. They have access to higher church information an knows of the resistance to the ancient beings long forgotten.
Bishop: The equivalent of a feudal lord or a major in an army. They are responsible for teaching faith and ruling the church they serve in. They report to the Archbishop, similar to a deputy.
Archbishops: The diplomats of the church. They are the assistants of the Cardinals.
Primates:They are loyal to an Archbishop, and known to serve in hostile countries, where the presence is most needed as a spy.
Cardinals: They help to elect a new High Sun Keeper and attending meetings of the Cardinals, while being available to the High Sun Keeper at all times.
Prophets: They report only to the High Sun Keeper. As they are loyal to the church, they must report all direct messages they receive from Pelor to the High Sun Keeper.
High Sun Keeper: Known as His/Her Holiness. They are the only Cleric that can receive direct commands from Pelor and can cast commune.

Public Agenda

The church sees Pelor as the bringer of life, so they celebrate with harvests and festivals, while being protective of the town's citizens. They offer healing services to those in need. Their control over Ansa Thalas allows them to promote Pelor's teachings. They value moral purity over anything else. And after Zuriel's birth, they started training their prophet and had her perform healing rituals on those with horrific ailments.
