The Golden Ember was the first inn and tavern to open in Havenwood, a testament to the foresight and entrepreneurial spirit of its joint owners, Elara and Galan Brightember. The fraternal twin elves purchased the building from Harnar Coalbeard and quickly established it as a cornerstone of the fledgling town. With Elara’s sharp business acumen and Galan’s exceptional culinary skills, The Golden Ember rapidly gained a reputation for its high standards and welcoming atmosphere. The establishment's design features subtle elven accents, reflecting the heritage of its owners while blending seamlessly into the town's rustic charm.

Elara and Galan Brightember manage The Golden Ember with a dynamic partnership that leverages their individual strengths. As the elder sibling by a few minutes, Elara is the face of the business, overseeing the tavern and handling the booking of inn rooms for guests. Her pleasant attitude, combined with a no-nonsense approach to idiocy, ensures smooth operations and a pleasant environment for patrons. Galan, on the other hand, excels in the kitchen, where his exceptional culinary skills and specialized magic create meals that are both delicious and exclusive. His knowledge of the culinary world and firm grasp on the arcane make him a highly confident, if sometimes cocky, presence in the business. Although he prefers to stay in the kitchen, Galan is always ready to step out front to assist when needed.

The Golden Ember employs two additional helpers who are integral to its operations. Gromli Ironfoot, a Dwarf who used to be a miner until an accident ended his mining career, is in charge of maintaining the inn rooms. Despite his gruff appearance, Gromli is known for his kindness and diligence. He also helps serve in the tavern on occasion. Tessa Greenfield, a Human woman, works full-time in the tavern as a waitress. She takes orders, delivers food and drinks, and assists behind the counter when necessary, ensuring that the tavern runs smoothly and that all guests are well taken care of.
