Nilios

Nilios is a lean and agile figure, with sharp features and piercing green eyes that seem to glow in the dark. He wears a cloak made of raven feathers and is often seen carrying a staff made from a twisted tree branch. His voice is smooth and persuasive, but there is a hint of malice and cruelty behind his words.

Background

Nilios was born into a world of darkness and danger, the son of Zuvana, a powerful and brooding goddess who ruled over the dark things of nature. From a young age, Nilios was taught by his mother about the creatures that lurked in the shadows, and he quickly became fascinated with them. He spent much of his youth exploring the dark corners of his mother's domain, seeking out the most fearsome and dangerous creatures he could find.

As he grew older, Nilios began to chafe against his mother's control. He saw her as weak and indecisive, unwilling to take the bold actions necessary to dominate the Shattered Kingdoms. He believed that she had grown complacent in her rule, and that it was up to him to take the mantle of power and lead their people to glory.

Thus began a long and bitter struggle between mother and son. For decades, they battled each other for control of the darkness, each determined to emerge victorious. They fought fiercely, their conflict shaking the very foundations of the Shattered Kingdoms and drawing the attention of the other gods.

Finally, after years of struggle, Nilios emerged triumphant. He struck down his mother and tore her power from her, casting her out of his domain and taking control of the darkness for himself. He reveled in his victory, relishing the power that he now wielded.

But victory was short-lived. Nilios' ambition had blinded him to the dangers that lurked in the shadows. He became reckless, pushing the boundaries of his power and daring the other gods to challenge him. It was then that Zuvana struck, using her cunning and knowledge to trap Nilios in the Gem of Priosian.

Nilios remains trapped in the Gem, his power and ambition slowly consuming him. But even in his darkest moments, he never forgot his burning desire for vengeance against his mother and his aunt, Gecyndas, who had conspired against him.

Dogma

Nilios believes that darkness is just as important as light in the natural world, and that it is necessary for balance to be maintained. He encourages his followers to embrace the shadows and the secrets that they hold, and to use them to their advantage. He also values cunning and deceit, and encourages his followers to outmaneuver their enemies through trickery and guile.

Followers

Nilios' followers include those who seek to understand the natural world and its dark places, such as druids, rangers, and rogues. They are often loners and outcasts, preferring to operate in the shadows and avoid the scrutiny of others. Adventurers who worship Nilios often seek out ancient ruins, forgotten tombs, and other places that are steeped in darkness and mystery.

Enemies

Nilios is at odds with many of the other gods of the natural world, particularly those who represent the light and the sun. He is also disliked by those who value honesty and fair play, as he often uses trickery and deceit to achieve his goals. Additionally, he has many enemies among the civilized races, who see him as a dangerous and malevolent force that threatens their safety and well-being. Of particular note is his mother Zuvana who trapped him in the Gem of Priosian.
