Ser Kaelen von Ghord
Ser Kaelen von Ghord, the Knight of the Currents
History
Ser Kaelen von Ghord was born in the Grand Duchy of Vizad, the youngest son of a family of provincial nobles. Unlike his elder brothers, who were destined to inherit lands and titles, he was allowed to follow the path of arms and faith. From a young age, he showed a strong inclination for justice and a particular sensitivity to the pain of others. He grew up trained in the art of chivalry, the cult of law, and obedience to the paladin oath. His first assignment was to accompany a Vizadian naval expedition during the minor wars against the pirates on the coasts of the Little Ocean. During a storm, his ship was caught in freak currents and deep-sea creatures. The crew was decimated, the ship shattered, and Kaelen himself was swept into the sea, wounded and helpless. He would have perished in the depths had he not been saved by a young mermaid who held him in her arms and calmed the turbulent waters with the power of her song: Dorialia, then still a student of the priests of the Deep Kingdom. The rescue marked not only Kaelen's survival, but the beginning of a bond destined to change the course of history between two peoples. In the months that followed, he remained a long guest in Deep Sea City, healing from his physical and spiritual wounds. It was there that he discovered the beauty and harmony of the mermaid civilization, learned to respect its rites and culture, and ultimately fell in love with the woman who would later become Queen of the Currents. Returning to Vizad, he continued to serve his grand duchy with honor, but the memory of his love and debt to the mermaids never left him. When Dorialia ascended the throne and invited ambassadors from the surface nations, it was only natural that Vizad would send Kaelen as a special envoy, not only for his experience but also for his now-known bond with the queen. Today, Kaelen lives permanently in Deep Sea City, where he serves not only as ambassador, but also as protector and advisor to Dorialia. Their union, consecrated according to the merwoman and Vizadian rites, has already produced a son, a tangible sign of a possible new era of alliances between the surface and the deep.Character and Personality
Ser Kaelen is a man of absolute honor. Raised in the discipline of Vizadian chivalry, his life is governed by unwavering principles: defend the weak, fight evil, respect oaths, and always keep his word. His rectitude, however, does not make him rigid or devoid of compassion. In contrast, Kaelen has an open heart, capable of understanding the suffering and fragility of others. This trait, combined with his natural charisma, has made him not only a warrior, but also a leader and a mediator. His soul is torn by constant tension: on the one hand, loyalty to Vizad, his homeland, and on the other, love and duty to the people of the deep. This dual loyalty often forces him to navigate difficult political terrain, where his every decision is scrutinized by both Vizadian nobles and Sirenian conservatives. With Dorialia, he is gentle and protective, but not servile. He knows the queen must be independent and authoritative, and he does not seek to impose his will on her decisions. However, privately, he is her steadfast support, the one who reassures her when doubts assail her and who always reminds her of the value of hope. His darkest side is represented by a deep fear of failure. After witnessing the deaths of comrades and civilians during the naval wars, Kaelen fears above all else that he will be unable to protect those he loves. This obsession drives him to be hypervigilant and to take enormous personal risks to save others.Relationships and Conflicts

Conclusion
Ser Kaelen von Ghord is not merely a knight or an ambassador: he is a living symbol of the possible union between worlds that for centuries have regarded each other with suspicion. Loved, hated, respected, and feared, his figure divides as much as it inspires. For some, he is the traitor who abandoned the mainland; for others, the hero who had the courage to follow his heart and build bridges between two civilizations. His fate is inextricably linked to that of Dorialia and their son. If he can maintain the fragile harmony between the surface and the depths, then his story will be remembered as that of the one who ushered in a new era of hope. If he fails, his name will be written among those responsible for the fall of two kingdoms.
