Ethicaan Forest

This forest in the Duchy of Ethicar is a beautiful realm all it's own and is home to a plethora of beautiful flora and fauna that are fiercly protected by nymphs, naiads, and other fey spirits in the material plane. There has always been tension between the wood and the mortal races and their nearby cities and settlements. The City of Ethicar and many of the towns were raised with wood willingly given in days of gladness and friendship long ago... but mortals are fickle and have a short memory. They broke faith and have plundered the wood, set fires, slaughtered beasts for sport, and murdered many a Nymph and Naiad over the ages. Right now, the current rulers of the Duchy have a great deal of respect for the wood and brutally enforce laws ensuring it's preservation... though they still claim dominion over it in speeches if not reality. The uneasy peace holds so long as the people of the realm give this woodland realm a wide berth, should it break.... well, blood has fertilized this land before... that's why the forest is so large and the trees so tall.
