The Aethryn Lyceum is Sangrithar’s most respected institution of structured thought, legal rhetoric, and magical statecraft. The University is built upon a firm foundation of argumentative discipline, historical context, and public service. Academic Departments

The Aethryn Lyceum is divided into several departments focused on a particular area of study. While each branch operates independently, inter-departmental communication is encouraged by The Mentat Council.

• Department of Logical Concordance
  Groundwork in formal logic, fallacy recognition, and debate structures. The department forms the intellectual backbone of all Mentat training.
• Department of Applied Arcanum
  Integrates Bloodline magic into lawful and ethical use cases. Student study defense theory, healing ethics, and environmental balance among other advanced application topics.
• Department of Political Structure & Conflict Design
  Focused on real-world diplomacy, internal power analysis, and the rhetorical shaping of peace, policy, and influence. The Mentat Council regularly outsources policy issues to this Lyceum Department in preparation of formal adoption debates.
• Department of Sangrithar History & Cultural Systems
  Emphasizes historical precedent in policy analysis, regional behavioral traditions, the evolution of Bloodline authority, and major ideological shifts across ages. Deemed essential for citizens to understand their civic responsibilities.
• Department of Technocratic Integration
  Heavily monitored. Examines emerging techno-theories and non-magical systems. Often a site of tension and debate, the Lyceum finds itself one of the few Bloodline institutions that is willing to engage with the Technos so openly.

Significant Locations on Campus

The Caverns of Reflection are made up of hundreds of small, rounded cells cut into the city’s living walls, set aside for silent contemplation, inner exercises, or paired intellectual duels. They range in style—some austere, others enchanted for sensory deprivation or mental resonance.

The Hall of Recorded Dissent is a ceremonial archive that houses the great ideological clashes of Sangrithar’s past. Visitors must submit a written ideological challenge to enter—contributing to a growing vault of evolving conflict thought. Lyceum Mentats find the Hall to be foundational in fostering the mental flexibility to embrace dissonance in logical thought.

The Resonant Forum, a large amphitheater of inscribed stone , serves as the site of graduation trials. Each student presents a public argument or intellectual endeavor, facing Council review, peer questioning, and symbolic traversal of the outer Axiomatic Path —engraved with truths they must affirm.

The Echo Library serves as a hybrid repository of written, verbal, and mnemonic knowledge. Texts are stored not only in books but in magically suspended sound-glyphs. Reading a work may involve both seeing the script and hearing the original arguments as they were first spoken.
