Secondary Barracks

A small set of barracks set near the King's Gate to provide living quarters and storage space for of the King's Gate and the Service Gate. This was built much more recently to allow for easier access across the town.

A series of three functional buildings that contain these living quarters and other spaces. There is no specific security around them due to then only both being in constant use and also their lack of strategic significance. No high ranking officers or high level gear or plans are kept in these buildings.

There is a small jail in the central building along with the primary administrative spaces to temporarily house criminals prior to their being transported for sentencing or trial.

Alterations

Initially it was an area for the slums, but with increasing trade through Lacrieg, and increased passage of cultivators for the dungeons and the Great Forest, problems were arising. The Lord took an area of land, cleared it, and placed a single small guard-post on it.

With the increase in the importance of the town, along with the finding of a second dungeon and Mithril deposits, it was developed into a larger watch-house with a jail and barracks section.

When the Kings Gate was rebuilt and the Service Gate placed, the barracks were further enlarged into 3 buildings in their current manner. Over time the internal areas have been renovated to ensure easy use, however it always remains secondary to the main Barracks.

Architecture

A series of three rectangular buildings two storeys high and relatively long and thin.

Made out of stone with tile roofs and narrow windows. No real decoration or artistry is made around these buildings.

Small amount of space around the buildings to allow for movement and mustering of troops. This space is directly linked to the walkway that passes underneath the inside of the wall.
