Ivan
Tsar Ivan
I never really met my grandfather, he died the day I was born, but mama and my brothers tell me that he was a cruel man and a poor leader for our country.
Mental characteristics
Education
He was taught by private tutors at the Palace but he never seemed to learn much, he never took to leadership as a role of responsibility and instead focused on spending the money of the Crown.
Morality & Philosophy
I am told that he believed that the Royal Family should appear perfect and he would ignore anyone who did not meet his standards for what the family should look like. He ignored Nikolai and my father because of their perceived "imperfections" and arranged my parents marriage so that his grandchild would have a way to take over the Shadow Army should the need ever strike them.
Social
Family Ties
We aren't actually sure how many children he had as he refused to recognise any child born outside of his marriage, this makes the official total three but the real number is far greater.
Many of his children were employed at the palace which means that most of the servants we still have are our aunts, uncles and cousins. This includes my mother's maid, Marya, and my father's old valet among many others.
Relationships
Wealth & Financial state
As the monarch he had control of the state coffers and was the wealthiest man in the country. Under his reign income decreased and expenditure increased so by the time my brother came to the throne the country was almost bankrupt.
He was the Tsar of Rusfaeris which made him the leader of the whole country. He was also titular head of the military.
Despite this power, he rarely took an interest in the running of the country and instead favoured spending money on food and women while his council (the Tsar's Highest Circle) was left to run the country in a way that benefited them best. This was at a detriment to the country which suffered greatly under his mismanagement.
