Gnaur, Warlock of Shadows
Gnaur is a mage that operates somewhere within the bounds of Piltover. The party first encountered him after defeating the Void Creature Nog'Rith in the tunnels below the city. He "politely" asked for the source of knowledge that the Theatre Troupe had used to conjure the being. The Souper Troopers "politely" declined. He attempted to take it from them, but had to retreat due to overwhelming odds and an annoying third party that was summoned. He did leave with a promise to retrieve the book from them in the future.
The party did a quick look up on him while at the University of Piltover and found that he used to attend there for some time. Records indicated that he was a foreign student formerly from Noxus, but left to learn magic in Piltover. They also learned that he specialized in studying Conjuration magic. Records indicated that he parted ways with the University for differences in opinions on ethics, though there was no evidence of poor behavior.
While on the job working on a special delivery, the party ran into Gnaur's Shadow Mastiff, Fraum, that summoned several shadowy creatures to harass the party. During the chaos, Fraum tried to kidnap the current holder of the book, Logi. The party fended off the threat rather well and learned that some of the shadowy summons are vulnerable to radiant, but resistant to several other damage types.
