History

After the Battle of the Four Winds, Otosan Uchi grew well beyond its sacred walls, the Miwaku Kabe. Shanty Towns cropped up and soon the inner city, The Ekohikei, was not enough to contain the populace. The outer city, The Toshisoto, was constructed.

Geography

Otosan Uchi lies on the eastern edge of the the Emerald Empire, on the coast at the end of a main river. With access to the sea and fresh water, the fields surrounding the city completes the cycle of resources. The city is continiously blessed by the strongest Shugenja in the world.

    The Tournament of the Kami
    Founding

    The Tournament of the Kami was the means by which the eight Kami who landed in what would become Rokugan decided who would be their leader and the leader of their new empire. It was a single-elimination martial tournament. Each of the Kami participated, except Togashi. In the end, Hantei was the victor over each of his siblings that he faced.

    The Day of Thunder
    Military action

    According to Shinsei, The Day of Thunder was the time in the Kharmic cycle in which the champions of Yomi must face the Champion of Jigoku, to determine whether the next thousand years will be a Thousand Years of Peace or a Thousand Years of Darkness. Jigoku sought to spread its corruption through the Mortal Realm, while the powers of the Celestial Heavens sought to leave Ningen-do free to seek its own fate.
