Haskala

Daughter of Vengeance

Divine Domains

Prior to the death of her half sister, Wolfmother Akinra, Haskala was known as one of many of Ferventi's potential heirs. After Akinra's death, Haskala herself retracted her bid for the position, stating that only Akinra should ever hold the title, which seemingly was agreed upon by the majority of her other well known siblings. Though not officially worshiped within Ferventi's cult, she is sometimes associated with her father's aspect as a god of violence and vengeance, even holding it as her title. This title is oftentimes used on her social media pages, and occasionally seen as custom patches on her jackets.   Haskala is much more commonly propped as a potential heir to Mą’ii, the Coyote God, her other parent, though similarly to Ferventi, is still in an unofficial capacity.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Haskala is strong and powerful, as much in the image of her father as a person could be. She stands tall and is thickly built, able to both stand up to her sisters and completely overpower her younger brothers. Her hair is dark brown and curly, generally kept at shoulders length and occasionally wrapped up with a red bandana. Although almost always seen in mortal form, she is a user of one of her father's boons, Boon of Ferventi- Wolfshape. Under its effects, Haskala turns into a quite large wolf more akin to Ferventi's War Wolves, with dark brown fur and a pale mask. She has used this in combat from time to time, as noted during the War of the Moon, where she has been seen in wolfshape being ridden by her half brother Odii.

Apparel & Accessories

Often Haskala dresses in a distinct motorcycle punk style, favoring leather jackets, bandanas, and boots to be worked into her outfits. Often her undershirt is stained with motor oil.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Haskala's history up until adulthood is largely unknown. What is known is that in her late teens or perhaps early 20s, she ventured off on her own apart from her divine parents, eventually settling in Arizona. It's commonly believed she was raised among the main sect of the Pack of Ferventi, though attempting to contact her about such has always been ignored. Her true age remains unknown, though Haskala has been noted by many of Ferventi's other children, her half siblings, as being one of the younger among them. Ryoten, a half brother she is particularly close to, has sometimes implied that Haskala "stopped counting" at one point or another.   Haskala founded the Black Coyotes, a biker gang that primarily operates in Arizona, where she resides. The group is primarily made up of Haskala's own friends, acquaintances, and girlfriends of varying degrees, as well as their own associates. While initially only locally known for illegal motorcycle races, the group became more widely known as the potential culprits behind the murder of several child abusers within the nation-state. No conviction was ever made, however, likely due to the group's connection to Mą’ii, the Coyote God, as well as their vast network of lawyers and civil defenders.   Since this incident, Haskala and her gang have become rather notorious for taking matters into their own hands, making public shows of harassing and even beating such individuals when their acts become known. Harassment from her gang can also take a form reminiscent of that of the Pack of of Ferventi's own methods, keeping abusers awake at all hours by surrounding their property with their vehicles and dogs, and creating a racket at all hours. Oftentimes, the gang has used this to throw massive parties and to draw even more attention to the incident, as well as spread the word of the perpetrator's acts.   During the War of the Moon, Haskala and the Black Coyotes have been aiding in sending resources to the pantheon as well as mortal forces. This has been in the form of funds, transport, and weapons, though a number of vehicles painted with their logo have also been spotted and outfitted for combat. Many suspect that these are Haskala's own personal trucks and trailers, originally meant for transporting motorcycles. Haskala herself was present at The Moon's Rage, though many witnesses attest that she arrived to the battle late and with the bulk of mortal forces, rather than the primary and initial group of the pantheon's own. Since the battle, her whereabouts have been unknown, but it is assumed she has retreated along with the pack to deal with the aftermath as well as aid in treating her father's injuries.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Her love of loud and powerful motorcycles is well known, with Haskala having a large collection of them herself. She has partnered with numerous local shops and mechanics to produce official Black Coyote accessories, jackets, and safety equipment such as boots and helmets. Haskala herself has also noted that it is a dream of hers to do a collaboration with a motorcycle company to "...make a beast like no one's ever seen.", though her exact meaning has never been fully understood.

Vices & Personality flaws

As a proponent of "taking matters into (her) own hands" and of vigilante justice, Haskala and her gang both are well known for their extreme acts of violence against those they believe to be in the wrong and to have committed vile acts. This is in stark contrast to the law, officers of which have noted that handling matters with her is extremely difficult due to a number of factors. The primary of such is that how well armed Haskala, and by extension, the Black Coyotes are has never been a known fact other than that they do possess powerful magic on account of her status as a demigod and her easy access to firearms. Haskala's favor both with the god of coyotes and her father has also proven to be a massive obstacle, as well as her group largely being seen as a boon to the public, known for causing intense backlash to law enforcement.   A common response to criticisms of her and her operations, one repeated by Haskala herself, is that '-if (the police) would do their jobs, we would not have to'. Though when this sentiment is repeated by her herself, it does often include far more expletives and personal attacks.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Haskala is the founder and leader of the Black Coyotes, a motorcycle gang in Arizona. The Black Coyotes host illegal motorcycle races and shows and are well known to act as vigilantes that target child abusers and those who commit acts such as domestic abuse and rape.   She doesn't maintain particularly close ties with the main sect of her father's cult, the Pack of Ferventi, though has never indicated this is due to any particular bad blood but mere differences in lifestyle. Despite this, Haskala is known to be fairly close with her half siblings Odii and Amos Vulapin, though prone to posting embarrassing pictures of her younger brothers to social media.   Haskala also has close ties with the Montanan Mountains Pack through her half brother, Ryoten. She maintains a close bond with Ryoten as well as his family and affiliates, having appeared on his vlog Montana Memo several times, being a well known fan favorite. The Montana sect of the pack doesn't often travel as far south as to enter her territory, though during such expeditions, they are commonly housed by her at her expense during particularly brutal winters.

History

Mą’ii's eldest child with Ferventi, God of Wolves. Though she is as adored as the rest of Mą’ii's biological children, Mą’ii works to keep some (tiny) bit of distance between them out of respect for Haskala's standing as a potential heir to Ferventi as the God of Wolves.

History

Haskala and Ryoten met during one of Ferventi's annual feasts, and quickly fell in favor with one another due to their shared interests and being more tolerant of the urban world than their other siblings. They have remained close friends, and at the wolf's feasts, if they are both present they are almost certainly side by side, catching up on one another's lives. Haskala will occasionally join Ryoten's vlogs as a guest, and he has promoted her gang, the Black Coyotes, several times. Due to such a good relationship, Ryoten suggested to adjust the migration routes of his entire sect of the pack to swing into Haskala's territory during winter.

Nicknames & Petnames

A nickname Haskala has given Ryoten is 'Black Runt', due to him being one of the youngest of their group among Ferventi's children that maintain contact with one another. Ryoten is known to call her 'Sissy' as a joke.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

Among the furthest removed from the main sect of Ferventi's cult, Haskala and Ryoten share a common ground on the rejection of many aspects of their family's way of life and culture. In particular, neither shares the quite common rejection of the urbanized world shared by their siblings, instead embracing it.

Shared Secrets

Haskala was one of many of Ryoten's siblings that vouched for him and assisted with him adopting his son, Orion. Haskala also is the one who contacted Ma'ii on his behalf.
