Military action
The Alliance War was finally ended when the Civilised Council empowered the Stormchasers to utilise the Karkia that year to unleash various monsters upon the home cities of Terristra. After several months of high magic use and the loss of a great amount of life, a treaty was signed between the The Night Alliance and the Civilised Council. The terms of the armistice were that neither side were allowed to cross the water between the continents even for diplomacy or trade, neither side are permitted to use the Karkia portals to attack civilian targets, and all claims to territory on the opposing continent are void.
The Stormchasers researched for decades to discover how to manipulate portals that appeared during Karkia and brought the plan to the Civilised Council. The Karkia that year resulted in no portals within Ambion. Instead, portals appeared within the usually protected capital cities of the Alliance. Cambozra and Scalemount were the most heavily hit, mostly as the Civilised Council had the most accurate information on their location as they had existed when Humans still lived on Terristra. However, all Terristra races took high casualties, and it was enough to bring them to bargain, which had not been possible for nearly 200 years at this point in the war. After the treaty was negotiated, which took several months, the devices used to control the Karkia portals were destroyed with witnesses from the Drow and Duergar representatives of the Alliance. Part of the agreement was that the devices would never be recreated, and various magical protections were put in place over all of Zanthar to ensure compliance with this condition.
