Feywild

The geography of the Feywild physically matches the land masses of Zanthar, although the metaphysical effects of being on the plane make it hard to perceive the true shape of the land. The fauna and flora that cover the Feywild are generally utterly different than one might find on the material plane of Zanthar. Natural creatures tend to be more intelligent, more sneaky, more devious, and more dangerous. Magic is wilder, and the influence of most of the gods is greatly diminished. The chaotic nature of the realm tends to make navigation by standard methods impossible, with landmarks moving regularly and irritatingly to confuse travellers.

The origin of the Feywild is unknown. It was first discovered sometime before the appearance of Firebreath Mountain by the elven people, who were very curious about the plane and the creatures found within it. The influence of the Feywild is thought to be somehow connected to the elven survival of the calamity, though the details are unclear. Since then, elves have attempted to explore the plane with limited success. The areas that overlap the elven territory on Ambion are the safest known, with the terrain and dominant creatures generally well known if not understood.  The city of Hondruual was moved to the Feywild when it was under threat from the Titan creature. While there, with almost the entire elven race contained within the walls, the Feywild noticed. Over the course of five years, the city drew the attention of many previously undiscovered creatures, including many powerful beings that were designated Archfey. The city returned to Ambion as soon as it was able after five years interacting with the Feywild.  Since the return, many elves have experienced a great urge to return. Most elves have gained an affinity to they Feywild, and have lost the ability to sleep. The creatures from the Feywild have also started to take more of an interest in Ambion, with a marked increase in incidents involving fey creatures outside the Feywild.
