Arrakis

The population of Arrakis is almost entirely dwarven. One inn, the Lucky Unicorn, is run by a family of gnomes that came from Atraxia a generation ago, and there are two stores run by other races, namely a leatherworking store run by an elven family and a farm supplies business (a chain) run by halflings, not all related. The population of the town proper mostly supports the surrounding farms. This includes services to process the grain, sugar, and other crops, and maintain or trade the livestock in the area. There is a large stock trade centre on the outskirts of town which also services Glitterholme. There are also dozens of silos around the town owned by the Artisan's Council to supply the dwarven people through Karkia and/or Full Blinding. There is no real class difference in Arrakis, but there are a few more wealthy families that have been in the town for many generations. They own several farms, horse breeding studs, grain silos, and private food stockpiles that they sell through stores in town and in Glitterholme.

Arrakis operates under the direct authority of the Artisan's Council in Glitterholme. They appoint a mayor and council to run the city, and they report to the Chief Administrator. There are regular council meetings to decide on the governance of the city, and a monthly town meeting where all citizens can bring grievances before the council members.

Arrakis is within the Karkia shield of Glitterholme, so it is usually not evacuated during Karkia. However, most of the eastern farms are outside the protected area, so those families generally pull back inside the city walls during Karkia for safety. There are multiple barracks set up for general accommodation, for those families that do not own their own houses within the city for this purpose.
