Map Index: G3, G4, H4, H5

Location: Southern Beorlan and Northwestern Centakus

Description: Situated off the coast of southern Beorlan and northwest Centakus, the Gulf of Kishar is a sprawling body of water shielded from the tumultuous waves of the Great Western Sea by the Arandar peninsula in the northwest and the peninsula of Ursagammu in the southwest.

Primary Population: None
Secondary Population: None
Minor Population: None

Water Characteristics: The saline waters of the gulf remain calm except for earthquake generated waves. The waters are often murky due to recently deposited volcanic ash.

Geography and Geology: The Gulf of Kishar forms a great flooded valley. Nearby Arandar is filled with active volcanoes.

Climate and Weather Patterns: The direction of the prevailing winds exerts a tremendous influence on the conditions within the gulf. Volcanoes erupting in Arandar frequently deposit ash in the water or cloud the sky with dense eruptions of fine volcanic ash. Travel by boat through the northern part of the Gulf of Kishar challenges even skilled navigators due to dense clouds of volcanic ash being emitted.

Marine Life: The gulf teems with school of fish but frequent clouds of ash from Arandar often cause them to leave the affected area. Rumors persist of a colossal ship eating sea wyrm off the coast of Arandar. While they are often dismissed as mere legend given the sparse population in the region, sailors remain wary of potential hazards lurking beneath the gulf's murky depths.

Cultural & Historical Significance: The Gulf of Kishar grew in size during the Great Cataclysm when large amounts of land subsided. During this tragic event, large parts of Bhoras, Aklon, Mas, and Ursagammu sank below sea level. Tales say that the old ruined cities lie on the bottom of the gulf today. The gulf remains largely uninhabited, save for scattered human settlements along the shores of Ursagammu.
