Climate: The humid subtropical climate changes depending upon the season. The weather can be severe in the summer months when high temperatures and powerful thunderstorms dump their rains on a nearly lifeless landscape. In the winter months, the temperatures moderate and the rainstorms become lighter.

Wildlife: Ansharr is nearly devoid of all wildlife due to the dragons. Practically the only wildlife that can be found is either travelling through on the way to someplace else or is too small to escape the notice of the dragon.

Humanoids: Amidst the bleak landscape, a few scattered survivors from the old kingdom of Ansharr still endure, but they are no longer recognizable as their former selves. The magical chaos storms unleashed by the cataclysm mutated the survivors into twisted, mongrel folk. These survivors seek refuge in subterranean caves, living as primative hunter-gatherers, always wary of the dragon's presence.

Monsters: The lands of Ansharr fell into waste with the arrival of the ancient red dragon and her evil offspring. The fearsome dragon claimed the land for her own, occupying a great mountain cave where she hoards the plunder of the old kingdom. The exact time of her arrival remains a mystery, but it's widely believed that she appeared shortly after the cataclysm, drawn by the chaos and magical energy that permeated the ravaged land. The dragon relentlessly patrols her territory from the skies, deliberately obliterating any signs of life with her fiery breath, rendering Ansharr nearly lifeless. As the dragon's offspring grow into adulthood, they are driven to seek new territories beyond Ansharr, spreading their malevolence to neighboring lands like Yxtan and Daalor.

History: The Great Cataclysm dealt a devastating blow to Ansharr, resulting in a substantial portion of the kingdom vanishing beneath the sea. Immense tsunamis, triggered by the cataclysmic forces, relentlessly struck the remaining coastal areas for months, sweeping them clean of life and leaving a barren wasteland in their wake. The region is now seen as a perilous and cursed wasteland, avoided by all but the bravest or the most desperate, for the dragon's wrath is unyielding and her evil brood extends their reach far beyond the boundaries of Ansharr.

Today: Ansharr stands as a testament to the devastation wrought by the cataclysmic forces and the malevolence of dragons. The once-proud kingdom is now a forsaken wasteland, ruled by an ancient red dragon and haunted by the remnants of a shattered past.
