Ustia

The Ustia family is a noble family of Lonereach, and one of the founding families of the city. They have strong ties to the Merchant's Guild of Lonereach, as well as an unnamed organization, that Treth and Fingle Panglebrast are members of. The current leader of the family is Gustav Ustia.

The Scroll of Lonne

When the party first arrived in Lonereach, they learned that Fingle's friend Treth was imprisoned for the murder of Dana Ustia. They broke into the city dungeon, only to find Treth asking them not to free him. Treth was at the time investigating a break-in into the Ustia mansion, where a part of the Scroll of Lonne was stolen. This scroll was once instrumental in the founding of the city, and it is said that one who holds it could control the city, if not the whole island of Lonereach. Therefore, it was divided into four parts by the ancestors of the four noble houses. Gustav and Treth believe that the Ustia part of the scroll was stolen by another member of the four families. During his investigations, Treth witnessed someone suspicious leaving the Firetel city manor. He saw that person's face, but couldn't stop him. He was then and there arrested for the break-in into the Firetel manor, as well as the murder of Lady Firetel. Gustav and Treth both think that the tief will strike again, at the Nightfall Festival of the Lopek family. However, Treth being outside of prison could deter the thief. Also, Gustav currently uses his influence over Rossdor Hidrinker to halt Treth's execution. Gustav contacted the party after they were able to gain an invitation from Talara Ironshield to join the Nightfall Festival as her protegees, explaining that his men would secure the Letho family manor during the festival, while himself and the party would watch over the Lopek's scroll piece. He also handed the group a copy of his own quarter of the scroll.

Strange Orb

It seems like the Ustia family owned a strange orb that may or may not be connected to the Heart of the Cargue once, but it was stolen by the Five-fingered hand for Lady Firetel before her death. The party now has this orb.
