Flame Obelisk

The essesnce of Fornax left for the people of Crankwall. This large crystal stands 30 feet tall and is approximately 20 feet across at its widest point. It currently stands in the center of Crankwall. The people there spent a significant amount of time attempting to harness the power of the Obelisk with little success. The Flame Obelisk appears to have a mind of its own and only activates when it senses that the city is in danger. When this occurs the Obelisk surrounds the city with a wall of near impenetrable fire much like Fornax did during The Rending. Members of The Conflagration consider this to be a holy relic and use it as part of their ceremonies on the high holy days. Several times in its history the Obelisk has dropped a shard of itself allowing the great craftspeople of Crankwall to create immensely powerful items like the Sun Defiler.
