The Children of Manora

History

The Children of Manora believe that the world was created by, and gifted magic by the 8 Manora. Belief in the 8 Manora used to be taboo, as anything speaking against the power of the creator god "Aigais" was punishible by even death. The history of the Children of the Manora is split at the point in which the first person ever made true contact with the Manora, and since that point, has spread as the main beliefs of the world, except for a few parts of the world that the Religion hasnt spread.   The belief of the Manora was first fostered in the small farming village of Sowey, depending on when you're reading this, Sowey served as the capital of the Royal Theocracy for centuries. The first person to receive a message from the Manora was simply reffered to as "The Chosen." The message came in form of a foreign word marked into the forehead of the chosen at birth.

Practices

Sorcerers

Those that are magically gifted can find their powers through a plethora of ways, some were born with a gift directhilly from the 8 Manora, commonly reffered to as sorcerers.

Wizards

Then, there are those who study the magic they left evidence of eons ago, they transcribe them into pronouncable words, or movements of their hands, or even imbed the magic into items, those are our artificers and our wizards.

Clerics/Paladins

And lastly, some followers of the 8 Manora are able to directly convene with them, they are held the highest in the hierarchy and are given special privelages by government and church alike, and they summon upon the 8 divines directly to borrow their powers.

The Bereft

The Bereft are the people who are unable to receive the blessings of the 8, they follow in prayer lead by the clerics, and often pledge their material possesions to the church for further expanse and missionary work

The Divines (Manora)

Ophanim is the Manora of divination. The magical School of Divination is centered around revealing and granting knowledge and information to the caster. Useful for reading ancient scripts, identifying magical items, and seeing invisible enemies. Being the Manora of this School, Ophanim is the ultimate user of this magic, able to see every possible outcome in any situation leads her to being all knowing, and is the most prayed to for guidance and strength out of the Divines.   Nanariel is the Manora of Abjuration. Magical spells and effects within the school of abjuration are primarily designed for protection and shielding. Don’t be fooled however, some Abjuration spells can pack quite a punch. Being the Manora of this School, Nanariel is the most power user of this school, able to protect himself from even reality altering magic, prayers to Nanariel are most commonly for strength and for tranquility and trueness.   Nynara is the Manora of Transmutation. Zealots who study within the School of Transmutation are able to manipulate the physical properties of both items and people. This could be something simple – such as turning copper into gold – or could be an advanced spell that turns you into a newt Being the Manora of this School, Nynara wields the strongest displays of this power, able to warp even subatomic particles to his will, reality is his canvas, and is often prayed to for creativity, and adaptability.   Yta is the Manora of Illusion. The School of Illusion is concerned with manipulating the various senses of people and creatures. This could be vision, hearing, or other various senses such as body temperature. Illusionists take full advantage of the senses, able to fabricate a false reality on a psychosomatic level. Being the Manora of this School, Yta weaves elaborate webs of lies and illusions all day, and is often given credit for the beauty of the world, the majesty of the sun, the deep green of the forests, and the natural camoflague he gave to all his small creations in those environments show his unending capacity for deception on every level. Yta is often prayed to for creativity.   Sadorr is the Manora of Enchantment. Spells within the School of Enchantment are designed to manipulate the mental state of the target. This entire school is very similar to hypnotism, where the affected creature may act completely differently than how they normally behave. Being the Manora of this School, Sadorr has a mental hold on all those surrounding him, and is often credited with the creation of song, being the most insipiring art that mankind has developed and used in prayer. Sadorr is prayed to by those in need of fortitude and in need of confidence.   Quion is the Manora of Conjuration. The School of Conjuration deals with creating objects and creatures, or making them disappear. Conjurers are masters of material position, and have an uncanny gift of sense of surroundings, almost impossible to surprise. Being the Manora of this School, Quion is able to create or destroy anything at will, if it's been thought of, even on a whim, they could create it instantly, every detail perfect. Prayers directed to Quion are mostly for bountiful harvests, and a need for material. People who pray to Quion are often looked down upon for their perceived greed.   Bas is the Manora of Necromancy. In general, think of magic within the School of Necromancy as manipulating the ebb and flow of different creatures’ “life energy”, or the balance of energy between life and death. This can come across in the form of helping resurrection, or draining necrotic damage. Being the Manora of this School, Bas parades his control over both life and death, by far the divine with the most prayers, as loss is common in the early ages, and many people wish to blame something other than the cruel reality of life, and beg for their loved ones back.   Ifrit is the Manora of Evocation. Casters within the school of evocation unleash a raw magical energy upon their enemies. Whether it be flames, ice, or pure arcane energy: evocation spellcasters are here to deal damage and chew gum… and they’re all out of gum. Being the Manora of this School, Ifrit demonstrates unfathomable power, having thought to have been the power that erupted life into existence, being the creator of energy. Praying to Ifrit would make you in need of power and strength, or fortitude to withstand draining times.

"Raise all to the Manora!"

Hierarchy
(Based on connection to divines)   1.) Clerics   2.) Paladins   3.) Sorcerers   4.) Wizards/Artificers   5.) The Bereft With great connections to the divines, clerics are often fought over and for by countries, and any city with a cleric is considered blessed by the gods.
There is much debate over which of the Manora lays claim to the title of strongest, but the most widely accepted theory is that the title belongs to Ophanim, the Manora of divination. Their power "True Foresight" allows them to know not just the most likely outcome, but every possible outcome in any situation, and the mind to comprehend them all at once.
