History

Ash the Standing Stone was well aware of the dangers he and his people faced. He searched for a place safe and away from dangers. Especially humans, while a small group was following them he had rested shortly up the river from the, then new, Spiral Grove. As his small pack rested by the river, Ash noticed that the fish were sick and dying and human corruption flowed down the river. Ash knew that this river was necessary to his people's survival, and one night before they planned to set off traveling again Ash received a message, that the call to help the river will lead to the home his pack seeks. Ash and his pack traveled up the river, cleansing the river as they went, and searched for the source of the corruption. As they approached the top of the mountain, the pack found a human settlement starting to form with their loud machines and toxic shed. Ash knew if they were to stay there their poison would kill the whole river. The pack ambushed and drove out the humans, sending them, their trash and everything the pack fished from the river down the mountain with them. Ash felt the calling to find the river's source. They reached the near top of the mountain, and they found a pond with caves and cliffs around it, sheltered and secluded while water spilled from a break in the rocks above. This was their new home and they swore to stay and protect the health of the life-giving river.
