Frozen Wastes
The Crown of the World
It is the least populated of Caelum's continents, The Frozen Wastes or its alternative name The Ice Crown of the World.
It is not the least traveled, covered within an glacial ice, the landmass sits below the world and serves as a passage to one of the largest lifepulses in known existance, a portal of reality said to breach the world and open up to many alternative paths, known only as the Path of Venari.
The path of Venari is the primary routh that bridges this side of the world across the ice crown of the world. The path was originally charted by a famed Naru explorer known as Amaterasu around the year of creation. However the chart may be outdated as of today due to the worldwide calamity.
The maps were thought to be destroyed, then resurfaced around the age of omens, leading to an increased trade between half of the world. Depite the many dangers, the path is a valuable trade route, although completing it requires the aid of a skilled guide, it is said to connect overlapped trade routes however it is said that it has caused a strife between the nations, causing an unsettling war on half of the kingdoms.
Geography
The Ice Crown of the World is roughly divided into three-geographical zones based on climate and distance from the South Pole. there is a subarctic outer rim, which borders the more southen continents, the polar ice-cap is known as the High Ice, and the cold desert surrounding the pole known as the Boreal Expanse.
The Continent's Southern borders are the Rimethrist Mountatains, The Wall of Heaven Mountains
Despite its reputation as a frozen wasteland, the Crown hosts a vast expanse of rivers, mountains, wetlands, forests, and other biomes, but they have yet to be discovered
Ecosystem
Despite its inhospitable conditions, the Ice Crown of the World contains numerous thriving cultures, most notably the Erutaki humans and Ilverani elves.
Most of the Crown's people live in isolated communities or tribal confederations; the only centralized nation on the continent is the Highbane Throne
Monsters such as white dragons, frost giants, wendigos, and remorhazes also inhabit the frigid continent. Furthermore, the ice holds the ruins of a highly advanced civilization, which predates the calamity, Highbane, presenting one of the most perplexing mysteries in the entire world, chief among them being the Nameless Spires.
Legend tells of the White Legion, an army of frost wights gathered in the Crown of the World. Their purpose is unknown, but there are fears that they are in league with Baba Yaga and her witch daughters.
