Temel

Temel is a small, struggling village in the Cahayaan territory of Seradestina, nestled at the fork of the Pass River where it splits into the Diamond and Sapphire rivers. Surrounded by fertile farmland and shadowed by the eerie Sarat Swamp, Temel endures a wet continental climate and a quiet, slow-paced life. Ruled by the oafish yet harmless Mayor Elmort Impignare, the village survives on agriculture and trade with nearby settlements. Though poor, Temel holds whispers of old magic, strange lights in the swamp, and secrets buried beneath its rivers.

Demographics

Mostly humans, with a few elven or half-elven travelers.

Quiet and slow-paced, with the rhythm of the rivers and seasons dictating life. Despite its poverty, the villagers are resilient and close-knit. Elders speak of old magic buried deep in the swamp or hidden beneath the riverbanks, though most dismiss it as folktales.

Government

Ruled by Mayor Elmort ImpignareA bumbling, simple-minded man with more family privilege than political acumen, Elmort is the nephew of King Ricard Saxum, ruler of both the Kiduel and Cahayaan territories. His appointment is widely seen as a favor to the Saxum Family, and many villagers question his competence. Despite his shortcomings, he is oddly endearing to some due to his harmless nature and accidental moments of insight.

Industry & Trade

  • Main Industry: Agriculture (grain, wet crops like rice, vegetables, and river-fed orchards)

Trade Partners:

  • Silvesi - Elven goods and craftsmanship.

  • Rakipta - fine furniture and tools.

  • Walungan - Salt, textiles, and medicinal herbs.

  • Kapal - Livestock and clayworks,.

Temel survives due to favorable river routes and proximity to nearby settlements. The Sarat Swamp, while dangerous, provides rare herbs and swamp game for skilled hunters or alchemists.
