The Naming of Twis'tangle

The Realm of Twis’tangle was formerly known as "The Forsaken Tangles," which was a woeful misnomer, because the place is clearly NOT forsaken.   Eventually, the inhabitants organized themselves well enough to make an official fuss about it. A contingent was sent to the Greater Gri’x Association for the Preservation of Excessive Bureaucracy to lodge a formal protest, which was at first ignored since they didn't have the proper form filled out (Nalawyn the Prickly was understandably unfamiliar with the procedure and mistakenly used 11-B-287.4x, "Petition to Alter the Shapes of Certain Adjectives and Exclamatory Marginalia in SubPlanar Cartography").   After receiving no response from the officials for several minutes, the Twis'tanglers took it upon themselves to make their point more directly, i.e., hacking into media data centers and helpfully "editing" any articles which referenced the Realm, erecting clear signs around known planar portals informing visitors to use the correct nomenclature "under penalty of mockery," and lobbing molotov cocktails filled with glitter into random GGAPEXB committee meetings.   Eventually the relevant officials convened one such committee meeting to specifically address the issue. The attendants, all of whom had pre-glittered theselves just in case, voted unanimously to ratify a new document: Recognizing the Correct and Proper Name of the Realm Formerly Known as The Forsaken Tangles Which Heretofore Shall Be Called Twis'tangle in Accordance with the Wishes of the Majority of Natives and Other Citizens Thereof.   The urgency with which the GGAPEXB officials regarded this matter was apparent in the fact that they only took 12 years to agree on the title of the document.   Most of the rest of the Gri'x had been respecting the Twis'tanglers' preference for quite some time by then, and the matter had largely been considered settled and forgotten. So when the GGAPEXB representatives arrived in Twis'tangle, with great fanfare, to present the decision in person to the inhabitants, they were mistaken for a church group, given a generous donation of sticks and berries, and told to go away.
