Ostenweld Kingdom

In the year 155 AF, tragedy struck when Queen Helge Schutz died in childbirth, leaving behind her infant daughter, Elara. Devastated by the loss of his wife, King Orban Hoelen, stricken with grief, swore off any thought of remarrying. Without a son to continue his bloodline, Orban sought a way to ensure his family's legacy. In a bid to secure the future, he struck a pact with King Gideon Grimizan, agreeing to trade the Darkwood in exchange for a promise: Gideon would father a son with Orban’s daughter, Elara, uniting their families and ensuring the continuation of the royal line.   In the year 175 AF, Roland Darkwood was born, the true heir to the throne once held by his father, King Orban. Tragically, Orban perished during an expedition to the frigid tundra of northern Ostenweld, three months before Roland’s birth. The crown passed instead to Orban’s younger brother, Brohn. Though King Brohn did not share his sibling’s warm regard for Grimizan, he honored the agreement his brother had made with them. However, instead of stepping aside when Roland came of age, Brohn chose to retain the throne, keeping Roland confined to the Darkwood, ruling in his stead for as long as he can.
