Annually, the population of Wepit Ta doubles from the late Harvest Season to the final weeks of the Frost Season for the annual harvesting of webbing.
Groups or individuals first register with the Web Weavers Guild and are given silk gloves that must be used to handle the webbing, and a silk bag that the webbing must be put in once harvested from the web.
The webbing can be harvested without disturbing the spider as long none of the anchor lines are disturbed, as the spiders have their coccoon surrounded by large areas of webbing. However, the closer to the coccoon the thicker the web strands and more valuable they are.
