Hefdorin (hɛf dɔ' rɪn)

Physical Form Appearance:

She is normally seen wearing soft sole knee-high leather boots, riding leather pants, and a woven tunic with silver and green embroidered scales on the sleeves. Her light brown hair is always tied up with sparkling bows and strings, occasionally it has been said that even pixie's live in her hair or that her pet faerie dragon is the one to 'do up' her hair. Her eyes are of vibrant blue sparkling and flashing at everything she gazes upon. If brought to anger they almost appear to have sparks of lightning flashing in them. She has also mastered the ability to transform into any non-magical animal with maximum hit points and she is able to retain all that she has seen, heard, and smelled upon returning to humanoid form.
   

Personality/Demeanor:

Quiet and reserved but when asked about her specialty and about a specific magical creature, she will explain in minute details. She understands the nature of things with these animals and just like any other animal they must be allowed to live their lives undisturbed and be allowed to follow their normal course. She has been known though to sometimes take the runt of a litter or even that best out of a litter to her home plane and allow them to run freely. If a magical creature of great renown is killed wantonly or for no other reason other than to be hunted, there is a very good chance that she will feel this death and take it very personally..  

History/Ascension:

One of Pelbon’s earliest pupils, was found to have a fondness for not just the abilities of magic but of those of the animals that could wield it or were born to it. She found a very badly injured foo dog. Knowing that this creature was way beyond her abilities at the time, she begged to Pelbon to allow her to keep it and if she could nurse it back to health. Pelbon, thinking this would be a good lesson to teach her in the fact that even magical creatures can die told her she could but she would not interfere or render any assistance unless Hefdorin asked for specific items or for specific spells. She would not accept vagaries or open-ended requests.
   

Divine Powers:

  • Calm/Call the raging beast
  • This allows Hefdorin to be able to calm a magical creature that is raging out of control regardless of the reason. She is also able to send a magical creature into a fit of rage that continues until the creature is exhausted, killed, or calms them down, whichever happens first. She will never allow a creature to rage to the point where it is killed
  • Call the pack
  • Hefdorin is able to call a pack of magical creatures, always appearing to have the maximum number available show-up and at least 25% of them have the maximum number of hp.
  • Pick of the litter
  • She is able to pick from a litter the one that will be the strongest, fastest, smartest, basically the best of the litter, she will also be able to tell the ‘runt’ of the litter.

  • • Turning: Cannot turn humanoid undead, but if an animal has been blighted with this affliction they are able to turn it as a similar being of the same hit dice.         Omens: .     Followers alignment: Any   Notes & Remarks: No magical creature will directly attack Hefdorin, at the worst, they will tolerate her presences, even the most horrific dragon to the most ancient of sphinxes will allow her to say her piece or provide aid. If the animal feels cornered or threatened, it will revert back to its instincts. This does not bother her and in the event she would be most likely expecting the attack, and she cannot be harmed by any non-magical attacks. She will take ½ damage from magical attacks by an animal (minimum 1hp). Hefdorin’s area of expertise are those animals that exist on the Prime Material plane. She has little or no sway with extra-planar animals, there is a 35% chance that she can ‘talk them down’ to where they will at least listen to her, but she cannot command them as she can with her native animals. This power however over the centuries is getting stronger and it is suspected that eventually Pelbon will let her spread her wings as it were and allow her to stand on her own.

    Hefdorin has created a saddle the moment it is put on any magical creature ranging in size from 1’ to 125’ this will allow her to ride them. If the creature is smaller than she is, she will shrink down to their size so she can be easily carried on their back. These animals however are limited to those with four or more legs or have the ability to actually carry a person, whether it either walks or flies.
