After years of anti-corporate campaigning against the Ocean Alliance and its member companies, the Merriman Consortium proposed an adversarial ΛCORS plan as part of an anti-war campaign in response to rising tensions between China and US Pacific allies in the wake of the Ever Art Brigde Sit-In. The plan was intended to be adopted in case of a declaration of war.
On February 18, dockworkers unexpectedly achieved consensus on this adversarial plan, despite no war being declared on China. They ceased loading ships and barricaded themselves in cranes simultaneously in Djibouti, Dubai, Singapore, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, west Canada, US Pacific Islands, and the whole western seaboard of the continental US, leveraging StrikeSafe assets in those regions for strike support through Safe.ly and university labs participating in the Merriman Consortium. To win the strike, workers tasked StrikeSafe trustees with negotiating targeted concessions from countries and corporations.
