Safe.ly
Summary
Safe.ly was a network of daycare centers, early learning centers, after school programs, and private schools affiliated with StrikeSafe that offered free childcare, elder-care, and education services to ΛCORS volunteers.Foundation
The concept of a free childcare network for ΛCORS volunteers was originally brought up at the 4th annual Conference of the Merriman Consortium coming out of its Domestic Labor Research Group. An associated .iop template was released to factor in the costs of providing such services through affiliates.Function
Affiliates were allowed access to StrikeSafe assets (including the Safe.ly trademark) as part of the Safe.ly Certification Program whenever ΛCORS plans allocated them. Affiliate capacity was represented in the software as assets like most others. Affiliation was dependent on adherence to Kit Merriman's Curriculum for Developing Children in a Globalized World, as well as institutional standards published by the Safe.ly DBA.ΛCORS volunteers tended to rely heavily on Safe.ly while executing adversarial plans (i.e. during strike actions). Consequently, these plans tended to rapidly ramp up affiliate capacity, and affiliates tended to watch over assets in reserve during non-adversarial planning or normal market operations.
Fate
At the time of the incorporation of Pacificus Logistico-Industrius, there were over 10,000 Safe.ly affiliates with over 100,000 facilities spread across the US, China, India, Japan, Korea, Egypt, the Philipines, Singapore, Indonesia, Djibouti, the UAE, and dozens of other countries. Upon the appointment of PLI as chair of StrikeSafe, however, the Safe.ly DBA was absorbed into PLI, certified affiliates were offered official employment, and most affiliate real estate was purchased outright. This effectively ended the existence of Safe.ly as an independent network, and the management chain was reorganized under the PLI department of education.
