The Uncharted Ocean

Geography

The Uncharted Ocean lies between Erendoc and Venka, and gets its name from the ever shifting and changing islands. By best estimates the Uncharted Ocean contains between 150-200 islands, though the exact number is hard to know all of which shift and float around the ocean being moved by the currents and waves, and seemingly around the central island known as The Cradle Isle.

Ecosystem Cycles

Throughout the year as the seasons change the local's in the Uncharted Ocean have come to notice a shift in the patterns and drifts of the islands. During the warmer Spring and Summer months the islands closer to the cradle shift quicker, and in the colder Autumn and Winter months the islands towards the edges of the area shift quicker. The islands will also change drift patterns once every half year, around the spring and autumn equinox.

Climate

The Uncharted Ocean spans a vast area of the world, though due to the Cradle have a generalised warm and tropic environment. The closer to the Cradle an island, the warmer the climate.

Fauna & Flora

The islands and waters around them have become home to many a creature, most noteably the waters around the Cradle is home to Vandir Whales. Large whales, slightly smaller than a blue whale, whose songs can be heard across the islands, the vibrations underwater resonating through the islands neaby creating a beautiful echo of whale song.

Natural Resources

The most abudant and important resource to the Oshar People who inhabbit the Uncharted Ocean is Raesi, a natural and strong fibre found across the islands. The Oshar use the Raesi for ropes, clothes, sails, armour, and bandages; its natural strength and ability to be densely woven make it an extremely wear resistant material, and has a naturally high tensile strength.
