Fey-Kin

The Favored

Fey-Kin is a collective term used to describe a diverse group of humanoid races that inhabit the southern realms of Mythriel and the eastern coast of Vistellios. Characterized by their otherworldly beauty and connection to nature, Fey-Kin are renowned for their grace, elegance, and enigmatic nature.

Elves

Elves are perhaps the most well-known and iconic of the Fey-Kin races. They are known for their slender frames, pointed ears, and longevity, often living for centuries, even without being an essence-user. Elves have a deep affinity for nature and are skilled in the arts of archery, ritual magic, and diplomacy.   Elven society is typically organized around communal living in forested regions, where they harmonize with the natural world and practice ancient traditions passed down through generations. Despite their often serene demeanor, Elves are formidable warriors when provoked, drawing upon their mastery of both magical knowledge and martial skills.

Drow

Drow, also known as Dark Elves, are a subrace of Fey-Kin characterized by their pale purple skin, white hair, and affinity for darkness and deceit. Unlike their surface-dwelling cousins, Drow inhabit the subterranean realms of Theos, where they have built vast cities and empires ruled by powerful matriarch figures, whilst living among their Beastren neighbors.   Renowned for their mastery of stealth and cunning tactics, they are commonly employed by the Adventurer Society to work as essence-use enforcement. Due to this prevalent occupation Drow are feared and respected by other races. While some Drow embrace their society's ruthless ways, others rebel against their oppressive culture, seeking redemption or escape to the surface world.

Shadar-Kai

Shadar-Kai are a small and isolated subrace of Fey-Kin closely tied to the deserts of Cyphyyr, a realm of desperation and hostility. They are known for their dark ebony skin, silver hair, and stoic demeanor, reflecting their world's bleak and desolate nature. Largely a nomadic people, the Shadar-Kai are constantly traversing the dunes of The Sunken Sands, or on pilgrimages throughout the wider world.   Due to the nature of their homeland and the common occurrence of shadow essences, the Shadar-Kai are skilled in the arts of shadow magic and are adept at traversing the boundaries between the material planes. Despite their somber disposition, they possess a fierce determination and resilience, often serving as guardians and guides for those who dare to venture beyond their capabilities.

Aasimar

Aasimar are a unique subrace of Fey-Kin blessed with Astral heritage, embodying traits of purity, nobility, and divine grace. They are often born into mortal families and raised as champions of good and righteousness, destined to fulfill great destinies and vanquish evil wherever it may arise. It is a rare occurrence to find an Aasimar functioning independently, as they are often accompanied by others who seek glory in the Aasimar's presence. Unlike other Fey-Kin, the Aasimar lack pointed ears. Instead, they can be placed by their taller stature, pale white skin, and yellow irises.   Aasimar possess radiant beauty and radiant powers, often manifesting healing, physical protection, or celestial weaponry abilities upon absorbing an essence. They are seen as celestial messengers and guardians, serving as beacons of hope and inspiration in a world besieged by darkness.

Conclusion

Fey-Kin represent a diverse and captivating array of humanoid races with ties to the mystical realms beyond the material plane. From the graceful Elves to the enigmatic Drow, the stoic Shadar-Kai, and the celestial Aasimar, these iconic races embody the wonders and dangers of Theos and beyond, captivating audiences with their timeless allure and endless potential.
