Svartvatn

Svartvatn, or Black Lake, is a freshwater lake located in the southeastern region of Skogheim. The lake is known for its dark, murky waters, which are often stained a deep brown or black color due to the presence of tannins from the surrounding forests.   Despite its dark appearance, Svartvatn is a vital source of freshwater for the region. The lake is home to a variety of fish, including pike, perch, and trout, which are popular among local fishermen. The surrounding forests are also rich in wildlife, including deer, bears, and wolves.   On the eastern shore of Svartvatn is the small village of Røkborg. The village is nestled among the trees and offers a peaceful retreat from the harsh wilderness. The inhabitants of Røkborg rely on fishing, hunting, and farming to survive.   The Ǫlfossá Watn flows out of the northern end of Svartvatn and cuts through the Hlíffjall Mountains before emptying into the larger Rúnvatn lake.
