Simareth
Hero and Guardian of Elfdom
An anomaly among the Elven gods: whereas agnostic scholars debate whether the other Star-Lords were once tribal heroes whose deeds were exaggerated until they became venerated as gods, there is indisputable historical evidence that Simareth was a real person who actually lived. According to all texts and other sources of information, he was a hero of great deeds who was rewarded by apotheosis, and despite their misgivings with regard to this claim, agnostics have never been able to disprove the event. As with all Elven gods, his domain consists of three aspects: a part of the sky (the New Star), an element of nature (Elves), and a social Principle (Heroism).
- The New Star, according to records, is a star that appeared in the heavens at Simareth's apotheosis, near the vicinity of the sun. As no other culture had astronomical records at the time, the claim has not been disproven.
- As the Guardian of Elfdom, he is invoked when the Elves are in some conflict with another Lineage or a supernatural force beyond normal proceedings. A radical minority of Elves uphold him as an exemplar, and even invoke his divine status to claim that Elves are superior beings and should subjugate or eliminate other Lineages.
- As the paragon of heroism, he is naturally invoked by Elves seeking a heroic or adventurous lifestyle. Though these types are rare, they are often held in great respect by their deeds after the fact.

Tenets of Faith
Though few, orders devoted to Simareth do exist. Organized adventurousness is mostly covered by the adherents of Dorrelin, for war, or Mrendil, for social causes. Still, for one reason or another, groups occasionally come together to serve essentially as mercenaries for the greater good. More common are individuals who seek a life of adventure on their own, and uphold Simareth as an example.
Prayers to Simareth are made by sacrificing weapons to a bonfire or the sea; most commonly a knife made of stone, bone, bronze or iron is used, because these are the most common types of weapons carried by regular people. One with greater need or greater means will use a sword or other martial weapon, made of quality materials. Critical to the procedure is that the item be designed primarily as a weapon, rather than something like a utility knife.

His statue in the antechamber of the Hall of the Chosen stands in the very center. It faces toward the grand corridor, kneeling, its hands clasped to the hilt of its bronze sword which is embedded into the floor, a round bronze shield strapped to its naked blade. The statue's features are Elven, but not of any specific recognizable Tribe, and it is made of gold, clad in bronze armor, with bronze hair and eyes of Orichalcum looking forward.

Adherents wear his symbol on their otherwise ordinary and functional garments, incorporating military symbols of rank if needed.
