The Renn Republic
Introduction
The Renn Republic was a nation that existed from 283 BE to 0 BE and was succeeded by The Renn Empire. Its territory covered all of Southern Ecia, Siklin Island, parts of the Western Flatlands, and some of the Northern Mountains. The city of Renzick served as its capital for the entire duration of The Republic.History
Lasting for nearly 300 years The Republic made many technological and agricultural achievements that were lost after The Empire took over. These advancements helped greatly when defending itself from both within and without.(River 2 Construction)*
Republic-Flatlander War of 7 BE
Throughout its history, The Republic had many conflicts with the Flatlanders over Southeastern Ecia. Located east of Renzick and west of The Flatlands the land was prime for war between the two sides. All of these mini-fights/raids eventually erupted in the Republic-Flatlander War. The Republic was initially on the back foot, losing towns, and being pushed back to its capital. Despite the Republic's impressive military, it was unable to effectively engage the Flatlanders in any kind of large-scale battle. The Flatlander's primary mode of attack was fast devastating attacks by their White Riders that would leave the Republic powerless to deploy their knights in any meaningful way. The Republic's response to this was the Republic Commandos. Skilled enough to engage White Riders in man-to-man combat and specially equipped with Wire Launcher's to handle Flatlander War Elephants, Republic Commandos quickly proved themselves to be essential both in smaller-scale conflicts and the later large-scale ones.Republic Commandos/Rider Conflicts
Because of the Republic's inability to use their knights the most common mode of fighting became battles between the Republic Commandos and White Riders. The unusual fighting style of Republic Commandos resulted in battles taking place inside of the towns they were trying to protect. The Commandos would take positions atop buildings and attempt to eliminate the attackers or force them to retreat. Alternatively, the attacking White Riders would either try to annihilate the town or kill as many within it and retreat before the Republic forces could deal too much damage.Siege of Renzick
Despite Republic Commandos being able to match - and often exceed - both White Riders and War Elephants in combat, they were still outnumbered and were unsuccessful in halting the Flatlander advancements into Republic territory. Although failing to stop the Flatlander push they were able to slow them down enough for the capital, Renzick, to fortify the city and its walls, which would prove essential after large portions of the Flatlander army were able to push all the way up to the city's defenses. The Flatlanders assaulted the walls with War Elephants, White Riders, specialized archers. and waves of armored soldiers. Despite the walls being breached by the War Elephants, White Riders streaming into the city, and Republic Commandos fighting on the frontlines, The Republic was barely able to repel the assault and prevent the siege from turning into a sack. Eventually, the Republic military was able to regain its footing and force the attackers away from the city. Fighting returned to small-scale fights, however, the Republic was no longer on the back foot and the Flatlanders were being pushed into retreat.Flatlander War Conclusion
The Republic was able to push their enemy back to the Western Flatlands and defend an unstable border that would end up the final point of contention between the two, as shortly after The Republic fell. Nearing the end of the war the Magical Emergence occurred that resulted in the rise of the The Renn Empire and the Republic's fall. Attacks from the Flatlanders halted at this time and the new imperial government took the chance to fortify the border.Provinces

An island southeast of Renzick that was an exporter of fish and seafood. Despite being the second largest producer of food within the Republic - behind only the Fertile Lands - the imperial government was unable to keep control of the island after its rise to power.Fertile Lands
