Aranor was a Templar of the second Crusade and the chief engineer of the The Sangreal. His body was found by Templars of the fifth Crusade in an escape pod.

Personal history
Aranor Gran was born to promiment Templar parents during the Ordo Templaris second Crusade. He had two sisters who like him also served the order. Due to his education he was given the rank of Chief Engineer of the Sangreal and served as such until his death shortly after the loss of the Ordo flagship. He was one of very few individuals throughout history to have a connection to Teregun Yarr. They became friends after Aranor refused to obey a command given by Teregun to sacrifice several of his crewmen during a containment failure in the engines of the Sangreal. The Flame was sure there was nothing to be done, and that the safest option was to eject the broken capacitors effectively sacrificing the men trapped in the same compartment. Standing up to the Flame, Aranor managed to instruct the crew inside on how to temporary fix the issue for long enough to reach a dock and have the faulty parts removed safely. Teregun had been impressed by this and had started visiting Aranor after this. From there came a long friendship that would last until Aranors death.
He had a daughter named Jolenea whom he had raised alone for the most part after his wife died when Jolenea was 10. She was brought up by Teregun after his death and is the only person past or present to ever call Teregun "Uncle T", she later would later change her name to Artemis after she gave up her mortal bonds much like Teregun.
