Red Vortex

The Red Vortex was a small-scale magical vortex, created when Reynold Astora foolishly and with little care, tried to merge two powerful artifacts. One was the Itherim Shield that kept a powerful Demon, and the other was the ring of souls.  

Overview

  Such a grand invasion in Amar was unthinkable, until now.   The Knight Errant, Reynold D'Astora merged two powerful artifacts, which created a massive whirlpool of energy and quickly cascaded into the vortex, ever-draining the winds around and further fueling its scale. It formed a direct portal to the Sixth Aetherical Hell, which was ruled by the mighty demon Orobas.  

Magisters

  The disturbance was felt by magisters from hundreds of miles away. The dreadful sensation of knowing something evil beyond imagination is coming flooded their senses, and the unlucky few who possessed Witchsight and were close enough, suffered an array of consequences... Some lost their sight and became as blind as a Cygor, doomed to slowly fall into madness. Others, had different predicaments, ranging from extreme mutation, possession, and death, to being fated to endlessly relieve their own hellish loops, which lack any logic or common sense.  

Grail Knights

  The Fey Enchantress summoned with incredible speed hundreds of Grail Knights throughout the realm, and they responded promptly. Such was the threat, that a never-seen-before number of Grail Knights were mobilized, forming a legendary army. However, it did not come without a cost. Several temples and reliquae were left unguarded, and many of the armies that were mobilized against the Druchii threat suffered great losses, or chose to retreat, allowing the enemy to increase their influence.  

Dark Elves

  The vortex was not left unnoticed by the Witch Elves, who quickly sent for scouts and spies to learn more. The Druchii General Kadobus immediately sent out for a large-scale invasion to the northwestern cities, as they were left with low numbers to mobilize against the demonic threat.  

Lizardmen

  Several of the Saurus priests sensed the disturbance and were quick to take action. They mobilized some of the Saurus Old-Blood generals for reasons that are yet a mystery.    

The Battle

    Once the Grail Knights alongside the Battle Pilgrims finally clashed their weapons with the mighty demons, carnage ensued. Visceral, long, hard-fought, and ultimately, ferocious and perverse. The battle raged for countless hours and nearby settlements and cities were damaged.   A river of blood was formed as the endless hordes of demons walked through the portal, the pinging of magical bolts, the hissing of arrows, and the clanking of swords and bones were as frequent and natural to that moment as the sound of birds chirping and a stream flowing. The forest became barren in several parts due to the boiling blood, scorching fire, and massive damage caused by titanic demons.  

Aftermath

  Countless died, leaving a large number of the able-bodied men out of the cities, farms, and villages. Most will be forgotten, except for the few who were lucky enough to have their names engraved to the conciliation pillar that was ordered by Lord Arthur Du Devon. Several parties know of what has happened and will react accordingly, which could be good, or incredibly volatile to Amar and its people.
