Reynold Astora

_{Played by Laiorwolf}   Reynold Astora, also known as 'Red', is a Knight Errant of Amar.  

Personal History

  Born in the Amarrian Noble House of Astora, Reynold never found himself wanting something that money could buy. He was raised by a strict and disciplined hand, from his father, and a tender and loving embrace, from his mother. His mother Theresia was a promising Grail Damsel when young, however, a chronic ailment sapped her capability of living up to the demands of the role. She found herself with no option other than giving up her duties as a Grail Damsel. Now, instead, she found a profession as a music composer, which she enjoys thoroughly. Reynold's father, Norman, is amongst the bravest knights of the realm, serving the king in his royal retinue. He takes pride both in his status and lineage, valuing the chivalric code above nearly everything else, as the most honorable knights of Amar.   The family Astora has been part of the kingdom of Amar for centuries, and it boasts having a great number of knights who successfully undertook the Grail Quest. Astora's heraldic devices portray a mighty dragon, signifying their pride in their ancestors, who were known as dragon slayers. Due to some mysterious affairs of forgotten members of this family regarding living (and dead) dragons, and their obsession with the mortal remains of different dragons, the commonfolk of Astora have since started to call them 'Dragon Blood'.   Reynold's older sister, Alice, caused great disappointment to her father as she was his firstborn, and he wished for a male heir. Despite having almost no talent that stood out and even taking no joy in the ways of chivalry, she went out of her way and acquired permission from the Royarch himself to be named a knight, all to impress her father. As the twists and turns of fate had it, Alice was born with an innate talent to wield the sword, which made it possible for her to accomplish her goal, and also allowed for her to become a knight known through most of Amar, both because she is the first woman to become a knight of the realm and she is indeed impressive with the blade. Alice tried to appeal to her family and insisted that Reynold should not be knighted, claiming that the duty was far too dangerous for the boy and that his disposition was unfit for becoming a proper knight.   Reynold inherited the red hair of his mother, just like his sister, and because of this, his nickname in the family became Red, as is the tradition of naming the young boys of the Astora family in such a way. Always energetic, and as fair as the Royarch Gilles himself (at least in his mother and sister’s eyes). He often was found playing with his wooden sword in the yard. He dreamed of becoming one of the Greatest Knights in Amar, a Grail Knight, to follow the steps of his great-grandfather and his grandfather before him. Reynold chose to become a Knight Errant despite his sister's efforts to discourage him, as she claimed it was a path too cruel for him to follow.   The tales about his great-grandfather passed down by his family, along with his sister’s feats and talent had always fed that dream until his late childhood when he started learning the art of the sword. It was only then that he realized how hard it would be to accomplish his goal, and after a few years of training, he finally decided it was time to face the dangers of the world to prove to the kingdom and his family that he was worthy of becoming a knight. He finally chose to take up to the expectations and became a Knight Errant.
