Halfling
Halfling culture is the primary culture shared by the Halfling species.
Two halfling cultures diverged sometime in the Age of Integrity (see Ages of History), today known as the Northwestern Clans and the Southern Clans. Though both clans freely intermingle today, there still remain some differences between them. The Northwestern Clans are known to be more independent and isolated from the cultures around them, due to the bellicose nature of the Human populations they bordered in the Age of Anxiety. The Southern Clans, in contrast, are more willing to share with and support their neighbors regardless of ethnicity.

Other names
Halflings typically have first and middle names in addition to their clan names. A common feminine naming convention is a shorter middle name like Leigh, Dee, or Rose that acts like the second half of a given name, e.g. a Gracie Leigh that never goes by Gracie. Male halfling names virtually never follow this convention, though the use of middle initials in formal correspondence is common for men.

Halfling clan beading is a tradition which assigns specific and meaningful jewelry to each halfling clan.
Shared customary codes and values
Much of halfling culture revolves around generosity and communal experiences, particularly in the sharing of food and resources. The health and strength of one's clan and immediate community is seen as a sign of good character, and those who do not make an effort to help those around them in need are shunned and derided by halfling society.

The Blossoming Dance is the most well-known coming of age ceremony in halfling society.
