Kalden Elevancy

The Kalden Elevancy is composed of the following geographical zones:

• West Lorenian Forest. The portion of the Lorenian Forest falling in Kalden's territory has access to northern shorelines, used for fishing and travel.
• Westborne Foothills. The stretch of land bordering the west side of the Soaring Mountains is rich in wildlife.
• Southwest Soaring Mountains. While most of the Soaring Mountains lay within the territory of the Cambland Elevancy, a small portion to the southwest (home to the town of Cavernstead) was afforded to Kalden.
• North Stormbreak Bay. The Kalden Elevancy still maintains a small piece of land sat just north of Raywick, bordering Stormbreak Bay.

During the first Underdark War, Dark Elves frequently emerged from the subterrain in spots scattered across what is now the Kalden Elevancy. House Kalden's vigilance as hunters served a crucial role in preventing the Dark Elves from establishing a foothold in the area. It is for this reason that they were granted the land by Yonwin, the first Exalt of Eliond.

When the Undercroft was discovered in the town of Raywick (causing a rapid increase in population), a brief political dispute saw the Kalden Elevancy attempt to maintain its control of Raywick's land. It was only through tactful negotiation and a promise of special privelage to House Kalden that the eastern coast chapter of the Adventurer's Guild was able to elevate Raywick to an independant province. As part of the agreement, Kalden maintained rights over the north coast of Stormbreak Bay.
