The Dymian Alliance
Structure
Each Dymian tribe has an equal say in the greater tribe of the alliance. Each tribe elects a chief who oversees their own needs, and a Toa, who becomes a member of the Tamatoa Tribe, which meets in The Mythril Keep to discuss the needs and actions of the collective.
Assets
- Rich metals and minerals from the many caves and volcanoes of their homeland.
- Magical prowess of the native Gnomes
- Metalworking of the native Dwarves
- Incredibly powerful ships and airships
History
An alliance between the Dwarvish and Gnomish clans of the Coals, the Dymians started as a loosely organized group, banding together to avoid invasion from larger nations. (Particularly the Andreans, who had been a thorn in their side for ages.) Eventually, they became known as incredible engineers. The Dwarven people's ability to build enormous floating fortresses, combined with the Gnomeish aptitude for magic made them natural enemies. But it also made them incredible friends when outside pressures forced them together.
It was the Dymian alliance that finally ended the conflict in 201 BT, when they set into the skies the world's first airship, repelling their invaders with a threat the likes of which the Andreans had never encountered.
Nowadays, Dymians are hailed as parents of invention, constantly modifying and improving on their ship designs. They now have one of the world's smaller navies, but it's not exactly a hindrance for them, as a single Dymian vessel can easily take out many hundreds of warships before finally being consigned to the depths, itself.
Demography and Population
The Dymian Alliance is largely made up of Volcanofolk Gnomes and Dwarfs. A number of Orcs and Humans also managed to find a home there after the formation of the alliance.
Technological Level
Dymians are some of the most adept technomages and artificers on the planet. They built the first airship and are constantly improving on boat designs, making them sleeker, faster, and tankier.
Religion
Dymians are largely worshippers of Vestae, Goddess of Flames and the Forge and other lesser gods associated with her.
Foreign Relations
Relations with The Republic of Andrea are strained at best, tensions still high from the absolute thrashing the Dymians gave them almost a millennium ago.
Dymians get along with The Kingdom of The Glades by necessity. In all honesty, most Dymians view them as a bit annoying.
Dymians have friendly relations with The Qeelaki Guilds, eager to trade their near infinite supply of raw mythril to a country that can afford a constant flow of it.
Dymians are vaguely distrustful of Vre'cki, the Undernation, but once again, are eager to do trade with a country so in need of, and able to afford their resources.
Dymians are one of the few nations who have sympathies for the lesser nations of the world, hoping that groups like The Forestfolk Confederacy and The Whiteplain Khanate can one day escape their oppressors, just as they did all those centuries ago.
