Wilds Ranger

The Wilds Ranger is the name for all terrain vehicles that tread across The Otherworld and it's harsh terrains. They are large, monster truck-esque vehicles that have usually been heavily modified from their original purpose to serve a new one. One might have an extra long passenger section, or another could have a large trunk for cargo. But some retain their original function, their weapons systems active and pointed at the greatest beasts the Otherworld can throw at powerful Guilds.  

History

Wilds Rangers started out as armored vehicles in the great war. Tanks designed by Humans  to destroy their enemies, with weapons mounted on them. Ranging from massive single cannons to multi barrel miniguns, they were built to blast anything that got in their way. They were also armored with thick plates of metal to take hits and keep on trucking.   Then, once the war ended the tanks were put out of use. Many were destroyed, painful reminders of such a violent and bloody time. Those that remained were left in hangars, never to be activated again. This all changed when Otherworld exploration boomed. Suddenly, a new battlefield awaited these engines of destruction. Rangers were invaluable for the formation of the Riftshire Otherworld Stronghold, as they were both powerful workhorses and supreme defenders. Then, once their effectiveness had been proven, the guilds wanted them. Many guilds clamored for the Rangers that existed even as the schematics were dug up. However, even once production started again only powerful, wealthy guilds could afford them. Barring strange circumstances, lesser guilds must resort to renting if they wish to harness the Ranger's power.    Nowadays, Rangers are available both for purchase and for rent. Lesser guilds can send a messenger to the ROS, and have a Ranger driven to them for their needs. The drivers are reluctant to do anything risky, such as exploration, but will happily haul cargo or other non dangerous tasks. If you want to take full advantage of a Ranger, you'll want your own. Most powerful guilds have at least one Wilds Ranger in their garage. They can explore difficult terrain, fire barrages at tough monsters, and take anything anywhere. Gryphonfall makes base trucks, but can install modifications(different weapons, bigger cargo trunk, etc) upon request and extra payment.
