Knapsworth - City Overview

The culture of the city of Knapsworth is unique among Humans in Asurus. It's relative geographic isolation caused by the Bahrun Mountains and Tharlain River has been the cause of this drift. In particular, the people of Knapsworth have developed a taste for bloodsport. Small fighting arenas can be found all about the city, with several large arenas, and a central major colosseum. Humans and beasts sometimes fight in these areneas, but by far the most popular and crowd drawing participants are the Orcs of Knarl Igg. Without sufficient farmland to call their own, many of the Orcs are drawn into the city's sport out of a matter of necessity- the coin earned by a skilled fighter can feed a family that would otherwise go hungry.   In order to maintain this arrangement, Knapsworth maintains a strong military presence in its outlying lands, to ensure that the primarily human farmers, and those with citizenship in Knapsworth are protected from orcish raids on their lands. Knapsworth has been steadily expanding its sphere of influence for several years now, stretching the Orcs to their breaking point.
