Oakwood Council

The Oakwood Council serves as the ruling administrative body of Oakwood and functions as the dominant governing force within The Oakwood Pact. The council consists of appointed officials selected by the Elected Head of Oakwood and operates as both a legislative and executive authority for the region. Although framed as a civic institution, council stability depends heavily on the authority and popularity of the sitting Elected Head.

Structure

Oakwood operates under a council-dictatorial hybrid system:   Elected Head of Oakwood   Publicly elected by Oakwood residents   Holds ultimate authority during term   Has unilateral power to appoint or dismiss council members   Serves as de-facto leader of the Oakwood Pact   Council Chiefs   Appointed by the Elected Head   Hold equal voting rights on the council   Responsible for major civic departments:   Chief of Justice — law and order   Chief Doctor — health & medical services   Chief Scribe — records, trade, and treaties   Chief Diplomat — external relations   Chief of Religious Affairs — spiritual matters   Advisor to the Elected Head   Second-in-command   Handles day-to-day administration   While council positions exist as checks and administrative offices, real power rests with the Elected Head.

Public Agenda

The Oakwood Council presents itself as a stabilising and protective authority within the West Forest, committed to the welfare of Oakwood and the success of the Oakwood Pact. Its stated aims emphasise regional cooperation, lawful governance, and the defence of trade routes vital to local prosperity.
