Glorianism

The State Religion

The official religion of the Royal Family and most of the population of the Citadel. Glorianity is the worship of the mother goddess, Gloriana. The religion contains four aspects of theology and worship each of which correspond to an aspect of the goddess Gloriana; Gloriana Invicta (The Invincible), Gloriana Liberalis (The Generous), Gloriana Arcana (The Mysterious) sometimes called Gloriana Mortua (The Dead). Gloriana Invicta: This is the aspect of the goddess, Gloriana that brings strength and courage. She is worshipped in the first three months of the year for her triumph over the darkness and uncertainty of the Winter. In the final month of the Invicta Trimester, worshippers hold a festival of victory and rebirth. Gloriana Liberalis: This form of Gloriana is the giver. She grants desires and bestows bountiful gifts on the faithful. The second trimester of the year is when worshippers focus on giving and other altruistic acts within the community as thanks for her gift of Spring to humanity. Gloriana Arcana: The mysterious form of Gloriana is a harbinger of change and transformation. In the third trimester of the year, it is customary for the government and other official bodies and organisations to go into seclusion during the Death Months as a form of symbolic death in preparation for the New Year and the coming of Gloriana Invictus.
