Powers of the Galaxy
When it comes to powers in Nonagarn, they are split in two categories depending on whether the person was born during the day or at night. Most sentient beings and some animals across the galaxy have access to these powers as their physiology allows them to harness the power of the stars. However, the split between day and night powers can put many people at a disadvantage.
Powers of the Day
Day powers are the powers people and animals get if they were born during the day. Daytime in this case is from sunrise to sunset for all planets. People with Day powers can only use their powers during the day, so once it becomes nighttime, their powers are significantly weaker. This doesn't usually pose too much of a problem, as most planets in the Galaxy operate on a daytime schedule. However, people who work at night in various industries will often find they have to rely on themselves alone, as their powers are virtually useless at night.Powers of the Sun
Many people with Day powers get their powers from their suns. This also means the sunnier it is, the stronger their powers become. On the other hand, solar eclipses significantly weaken their powers, although they only last for a few minutes. Suns can give people the power of fire, or Pyrokinesis. Some people also have the power of light, but this is much rarer.Powers of the Sky
People may also get powers from the sky, which allows them to manipulate air, or Aerokinesis. They might also have the power of the weather, or Atmokinesis. The ability to control the weather is also quite rare, and involves multiple elements, rather than just one like other powers. However, it is still quite accessible to many.Powers of the Night
Conversely, people who are born during the night will get Night powers. The night starts when the sun sets and ends when the sun is rising. As with Day powers, it doesn't matter what planet a person is born on, this rule will hold true throughout the Galaxy. People with Night powers will find it harder to use their powers during the day, since their powers are significantly weaker. Because of this, some would say people with Night powers are at a disadvantage. This may be true, but plenty of people have grown to accomodate those with Night powers over the millennia. Also, certain events like eclipses mean that Night people temporarily become stronger.Power of the Moon
A moon's orbit can control a planet's tides, so those with Night powers might get the power of water, or Hydrokinesis. Many people with Night powers have Hydrokinesis, and it is quite common in regions abundant in water. Hydrokinesis is much stronger when there is a full moon, so many water-based communities base their calendars and events around their lunar cycle.Powers of the Stars
Powers from this category are much rarer and do not even exist in many communities. Star powers can give people the power of space, or Spatiokinesis. This also gives some subpowers, like Teleportation and Speed. Another power is the power of time (also called Chronokinesis), which is linked to Spatiokinesis. However, it is a much rarer power, mainly seen in planets situated near the Curtain, a powerful astral constellation.
