Arode Desert
Geography
The desert is filled with massive red sand dunes, some being incredibly steep and impossible to climb. Thanks to these, there are also many depressions in the sand where the dunes intersect, making the desert a treacherous place to navigate. On the rare flat stretches of land, oases can be found, providing some refuge from the blazing heat of the desert. Notable structures in the area include massive skeletons from creatures long gone, making the sight of leviathan ribcages common.
Ecosystem
Most of the natural life in the desert is found near the oases, making the small pools the sole sources of survival in the vast dunes of Arode.
Localized Phenomena
The most dangerous part of Arode desert is the presence of undead in the desert. All around, one can find reanimated skeletons roaming the dunes and plains, guarding the area from intruders. The skeletons do seem to be sentient, though they are hostile to any and all other sapient life in the desert, causing massive problems for the fortress in the center of the desert.
Climate
Arode desert's climate is typical to that of a regular hot desert, with temperatures commonly sitting at around 90 degrees fahrenheit and rain being incredibly uncommon. However, the wind in the area has a tendency to kick up large sandstorms that can devastate lone travelers should they get caught in the middle of one.
Fauna & Flora
All of the desert life is found in the oases speckling the desert's terrain. A notable quirk of the desert's flora is the stark lack of cacti anywhere in the sand. The plant life includes palm trees, blossoming shrubs, and tropical ferns comglomerated around the sparse water in the desert. The fauna is nothing notable, consisting of common desert critters such as scorpions, spiders, and lizards.
Natural Resources
Bones are plentiful due to the infestation of skeletons and the giant remains of monsters. Under the desert surface, if it can be accessed, large veins of gold and fire or electrically-charged Elemental Bronze are plentiful. However, between the skeletons and the caves' tendency to collapse, mining is unadvised and should only be done with intense preparation.
